Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! As always, feel free to watch my video and/or keep on reading for the latest updates.
It has been a little quiet here this week in terms of news. I’ve been working a lot but honestly, not on a lot of new or flashy stuff. I’ve mostly been finishing up the couple of shorts I’ve been writing — I’m excited to share them! And yesterday I got started on a new outline for a streamlined version of Scorned April. I’m considering reworking it as a shorter, five-issue series and I’m trying to figure out how to pace it and what to cut if I do that.
A reminder that Moved by the Spirit: Hope and Light, the anthology that Alex Guenther and I have a short in, is live on Kickstarter! It includes over 60 pages of art, stories, and adventures from a dozen creators of all walks of life. Check it out!
Also, another project that I’ve backed and I’m keeping an eye on because it’s exciting is Amelia Sky #1-4, by Jermaine Boyd. I’ve read the first three issues and I’m enjoying the series a lot. It’s a dystopian story starring a tenacious young girl with powers that could save humanity.
And as far as comics I’m reading, I just finished Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe and loved it! Graphic memoirs in this vein always impress me because they tend to be so open and vulnerable. It takes a lot of courage to put your fears and insecurities out there for the world to see.
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Twitter and Instagram @sarahccomics. Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
