Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a good week! As always, feel free to check out my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest!
So this week has mostly been about No Spell Lasts Forever #3. The backer surveys are out and I’m closing them TOMORROW, so if you haven’t answered yours yet, you’ll want to do that today. It’s your chance to confirm your shipping address for any physical rewards you might be receiving, and to let me know how you’d like your name to appear on the comic’s Thank You page. If there are still surveys unanswered after tomorrow, I’ll assume you’d like your name to appear as it does in the info from Kickstarter. So if you’d like something different or if you’d prefer to stay anonymous, please let me know today.
Once the surveys are in, I’ll finalize the files for the printer and the digital comic. I talked to the printer and we’re looking at about a 7-13 business day turnaround, which hopefully means backers should be getting their comics by late August. I’m can’t wait for everyone to read it!
I’ve also been starting to read submissions for Faster Than Light, the sci-fi anthology I’m editing with Lesser Known Comics, this week. Let me just say, these submissions are so good! They run the gamut as far as style and subject matter, and they’re all gorgeous and wonderfully told stories. It’s really lovely to have the opportunity to share work by such talented creators! If you’re considering submitting, you can do that here. The deadline is July 31.
And with the Mad Cave stuff, I submitted my synopsis for the short I’m writing at the end of last week. If all goes well, I’m hoping to start writing it shortly. So exciting!
As far as stuff I’m reading, it’s not a comic but I’ve been getting really into Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir and it’s so good! It’s about two young women, one is a necromancer and the other is a swordswoman and I suspect it’s going to be an enemies-to-lovers story but I’ve intentionally avoided spoilers. I’m about a quarter of the way through and so far I highly recommend it! Plus, there are two more books in the series and another on the way.
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Twitter, Instagram, and Threads @sarahccomics. And I’d be so grateful if you’d consider backing No Spell Lasts Forever #3!
Best,
Sarah
