Hi There,
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week. Feel free to check my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest updates.
This week’s exciting news is that the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2 has reached its funding goal! Yay! A HUGE thank you to everyone who has backed it! I’m so grateful for your support!
So you know what this means...it's time to start working toward those stretch goals! The next is a digital wallpaper bundle that includes 10 desktop and 10 mobile wallpapers, made using Eze's gorgeous art! That one will be unlocked when we hit $1,800.
And at $2,200, we'll get Eze's beautiful digital Rosette poster printed up as a card that all backers will get. At $2,600, we'll do the same with the Elspeth and Lucifer posters. Check them out:
PLUS we've got the 80-backer bonus coming up! When we hit 80 backers, everyone will get a digital copy of Mandrill P.I. #1 written by Christopher Brimmage, with art by Carlos Trigo and letters by Lettersquid. It's hardboiled noir tale set in a cartoon metropolis. Think Hellboy meets True Detective meets Looney Tunes.
There's lots of good stuff ahead, so if you have a minute to share the campaign and help us unlock those stretch goals, that would be awesome!
And if you haven’t pledged yet, you can do that here.
So as far as project news, it has mostly been managing the campaign for me this week. Kickstarters are time-consuming! But I also wrote the first scene of Mayfly. I haven’t written much since early summer — the last few months I’ve been busy with pitching and preparing for the Kickstarter. So it felt really good to get back to writing again. I’m sure this first scene will go through some edits, but I think I’ve got the bones of it.
And as far as comics I’m reading, I’m up to volume 4 of Sex Criminals, by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky. I just love this series so much. It’s hilarious, and also really heartfelt. I’m 100 percent invested in Suzie and Jon and their relationship. And I love how Fraction and Zdarsky just swing for the fences when it comes to breaking the fourth wall. I mean, they even write themselves into it.
And at the end of volume 3, there’s an interview with Tiffy Thompson and Alex Hoffman, who modeled Suzie and Jon for Zdarsky, and it’s delightful if you have the chance to read it.
Well, that’s it for now. It would be amazing if you would consider backing the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2. I so appreciate the support!
