Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! As always, feel free to watch my video and/or keep on reading for the latest updates.
But onto the big news! First of all, I’m extremely excited to announce I’m editing a sci-fi anthology with Lesser Known Comics called Faster Than Light: A Science Fiction Comic Anthology About Family. Submissions will open shortly (don’t worry, I’ll be shouting it from the rooftops) and will stay open through July. Then the Kickstarter campaign will be in August.
The goal of the anthology is to highlight not only biological families, but found families, as well. So submissions can focus on friend connections that feel like family, romantic partnerships, and other forms of family, too. Here’s the writing prompt:
In a fast-paced, futuristic world, how do families maintain their relationships (or struggle to do so)? This can be families of birth, romantic partnerships, or found family.
I’m thrilled to be working on this anthology, and honored to be working with Lesser Known Comics!
Okay, the second big announcement is that I’ve started sharing No Spell Lasts Forever #2 for free in short episodes, like I did with Issue #1! You can find the first one on my Substack here or on GlobalComix here. I’ll be sharing the issue in five short episodes, one a week for the next five weeks. If you haven’t read it, I hope you enjoy it!
As far as comics I’m reading, I’m continuing on with Harrow County, by Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook — and still loving it! I especially love one of the newer characters, Priscilla. She’s so ugly she’s cute! And I’m really enjoying what her connection with Emmy says about how much Emmy’s relationship with the haints has evolved at this point.
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Twitter and Instagram @sarahccomics. Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
