Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! I ran into a little bit of a time crunch so no video, but I’ll be back on your screens next week!
The exciting news this week is that the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2 already has 91 followers! That’s more than I had at launch for Issue #1 and we still have about three weeks to go! I’m so grateful to all of you who have supported and followed me, shared my work, and helped me find new readers over the last year. It means a lot!
And I’d LOVE to get to 100 followers by the time the campaign launches on October 19. That would really feel to me like I’d leveled up since last time, and I think it would be a good indicator that this campaign is positioned to do even better than the first one. If you haven’t followed it yet, you can do that here.
In other news, there’s a chance I may hear back about my Mayfly pitch this week (fingers crossed!). And I sent out another inquiry about pitching Scorned April — I’ll let you know how that goes. I also finished the lettering for No Spell #2. I was working with Eze’s inks and pencils so I’ll probably go back and do a little tweaking once the final art is complete, but I’m mostly done at this point. Woot!
As far as comics I’m reading, I just finished Knight Terrors: Detective Comics (by Dan Watters and Riccardo Federici) and I enjoyed it. As you know if you’ve been following me for a while, I’m always up for a Jim Gordon-centric story! And I really like how this one showcases how much Jim cares about Sorrow. I’m really loving the introduction of this character into Jim’s life. Given how fraught his relationship with James Jr. has always been, it’s nice to see him getting to experience being a father figure to a son-like character in a context that’s more positive. I mean, we all know Jim is a great dad — his relationship with Babs is probably my favorite familial relationship in all of comics.
Well, that’s it for now. Again, it would be amazing if you could follow the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2. I so appreciate the support!
