Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re all having a great week! As always, feel free to check out my video and/or keep on reading for the latest updates.
I want to start off this week with some exciting news about the giveaway I mentioned in my last email. As a way to share a little Spidey goodness with all of you and also spread the word about my Substack — and to help some other awesome indie creators do the same — I’m hosting a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse giveaway! One winner will receive $215 of Spider-Verse merch!
The campaign just went live this morning. To enter, click here to add your email to the subscription lists of some exciting creators! You’ll find out more about them, as well as links to their projects, when you click.
The campaign runs for one month, and the randomly selected winner will be notified by email at 5PM EST on August 19. You can also gain more chances to win by following the creators on their social. I hope you all have fun with this, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
Ok, as far as project news, this week has mostly been about working on the campaign page for No Spell Lasts Forever #2. Eze is working on the standard cover, which is going to be aaa—mazing!! I’m so excited for you to see it! And after that, he’ll color a handful of pages so we can have some finalized art to share on the page. And once I get the page is ready, I’ll be able to nail down a launch date.
I’ve also been going over my options for pitching Scorned April this week, and I’ll be sure to keep you all updated as I move forward with that. I won’t be sending out any pitches until after SDCC, so we’ve got a little bit of a wait. Plenty of time for me to get more and more nervous! But I’m also getting really excited.
As far as comics I’m reading, I just finished up Batman and Robin Must Die, by Grant Morrison, Dustin Nguyen, Andy Clarke, and Cameron Stewart. I love how we’re seeing Damian finally start to express his love for the Bat-fam. And I’m really enjoying the bond between Damian and Dick.
Well, that’s it for me this week! As always, you can find me on Instagram, @sarahcookewriter and @nospellcomic, and Twitter, @sarahcookewrite.
Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
