Hey There,
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week. As always, feel free to watch my video and/or keep on reading for the latest updates.
There’s a lot to talk about this week! First of all, the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2 is still going on! We’ve got a couple exciting things coming up like the next backer bonus, which everyone will receive when we hit 105 backers. It’s all 24 pages of Eze’s inks, so you’ll get a glimpse of the visual evolution of the entire Issue #2.
Next up after that is the first stretch goal, which will be unlocked when the campaign hits $1,800. It’s a digital wallpaper bundle that will include 10 mobile and 10 desktop wallpapers made using Eze’s gorgeous art. So if you haven’t checked out the campaign yet, now is the time!
Also, there are now a couple of ways to get your hands on a digital copy of No Spell Lasts Forever #1 while supporting other indie creators. The first is by backing Blazing Blade of Frankenstein, a really awesome gothic fantasy comic by Clay Adams, Mick Beyers, Julio Rojas, and Frank Pittarese. No Spell #1 is included in the digital indie bundle that you get when you back it at the $10 tier. And you’ll also get a ton of other awesome indie comics along with it. Check it out!
No Spell #1 is also a part of the Edge of Your Seat digital freebie giveaway. Just enter your email to get newsletters and updates from the amazing creators involved and you’ll get a bundle of 10 great indie comics for free. It not only supports me and my work, but some other really impressive creators, as well.
And finally, I have a short called Strays (with beautiful art by Alex Guenther) in the forthcoming anthology Moved by the Spirit: Hope and Light, edited by Jack Holder. It’s an anthology that looks at the ways in which spirituality impacts our lives. I am not a particularly religious person, but to me, spirituality has to do with our connections to one another and the fact that at the end of the day, our fates are linked. It shows up when we express empathy, compassion, and love. And that’s what I focused on in the short. The Kickstarter for the anthology will be launching soon, and if you want to sign up to be notified on launch, you can do that here.
Whew! Okay, I think that’s all the news items I had for this week! As far as project updates, I’ve been working on some outlines this week but mostly it’s been Kickstarter and No Spell stuff. I just finished the lettering yesterday…woot!
And as far as comics I’m reading, I’m finally up to the sixth and final volume of Sex Criminals, by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky. I just love this series so much and it continues to get better and better. And as someone who works in a library, this flashback of young Suze discovering Lolita, a fiction title, in the nonfiction section made me love her even more than I already did!
Well, that’s it for now. It would be amazing if you would consider backing the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2. I so appreciate the support!
