Ok, so the first piece of exciting news this week is that the final batch of physical copies of No Spell Lasts Forever #1 will be shipped out to Kickstarter backers today! Yay! I’m so excited for you all to get to hold the comic in your hands and flip through the pages!
And if you didn’t get a chance to back the Kickstarter campaign, there will be other opportunities to snag a physical copy of the comic in the future, so stay tuned!
The other exciting thing is that this is Issue #50 of the Killer Tater Tots Newsletter! I truly can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 50 weeks! Time flies! To celebrate and say thank you for sticking with me, I wanted to share with you the first five pages of the script for the next comic I’m writing. It’s called Scorned April, and here’s my logline:
Reggie Simmons, a journalism student at Bardwell University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, sets out to investigate the truth about a decades-old urban legend involving the deaths of two graduate students. But in doing so, she uncovers a dark web of lies and secrets, and finds herself in the crosshairs of some of the city’s most powerful – and most corrupt – individuals, who happen to have a murderous demon on their side.

As far as comics I’m reading, I’m about two issues into Ram V and Rafael Albuquerque’s current Detective Comics run and I’m really enjoying it. Bruce’s nightmares are disturbing! It’s the private fear that he doesn’t allow himself to express to others. But luckily, Dick Grayson is around to lighten the mood! They’ve had some fun interactions that I’ve very much appreciated, like this one:
