Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! As always, feel free to check out my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest.
The most exciting news this week is that Dom Monette and Lydia Monette sent me their cover of Faster Than Light: A Sci-Fi Anthology about Family and I wanted to give you all a little preview. I mean, it’s just stunning!
Submissions for the anthology are open through July 31. If you’re thinking of submitting to it, all the info can be found here. I’d absolutely love to read your stories!
As far as project news, I’ve been mostly focusing this week on outlining a series I’m hoping to pitch around. If it gets any traction, I’ll be sure to share the details. I’ve also been rolling some Mayfly ideas around in my head. I’ve finished the scripts for issues 1 and 2 (though I’ll probably still do some editing here and there) and I’ll be jumping back into the third issue soon. And I’m in the process of adding physical copies of No Spell Lasts Forever #2 to my shop.
Speaking of No Spell, if you saw last week’s email you know the pre-launch page for the third issue is live! If you want to be notified when the campaign launches, be sure to sign up. Now is the time to follow the campaign. The more followers a campaign has when it launches, the more the Kickstarter algorithm prioritizes it. So following now is super helpful!
And as far as things I’ve been reading, I just finished Leigh Bardugo’s Hell Bent and it was amazing! It’s not a comic, but I haven’t been able to take my mind off of it the whole time I’ve been reading it. I’m so invested in these characters! It’s the sequel to Ninth House, which I also loved. In terms of storytelling, Bardugo is just a master at worldbuilding, character development, and relationship building.
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Twitter, Instagram, and Threads @sarahccomics. Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
