Hey Everyone!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re all having a great week. I’m having technical difficulties and every time I try to record a video there’s a strange delay and the audio and video aren’t syncing up, so no video this week unfortunately. But hopefully I’ll get that sorted out quickly and I’ll be back on your screens next week.
Ok, so the big news this week is that I placed the order with the printer for the physical copies of No Spell Lasts Forever #2! The proofs should be arriving soon and if everything looks good, the comics should get to me within a couple weeks after that. And at that point I’ll get them sent out to backers ASAP.
I’ve also been talking to the folks at Lesser Known Comics this week and had a great conversation yesterday morning. I really love what they’re doing. Their goal is to pool together great talent and make it more sustainable for creators to get their books out into the world, while also nurturing and growing talent. And they’re very data-focused. They track the numbers for their campaigns and the steps each creator took during their launch and crunch the numbers to try to quantify what goes into a successful campaign in a way that can be replicated. They’re just doing som really cool things, and I might potentially have some stuff going on with them in the future — I’ll keep you posted!
And in holiday season news, we got our Christmas trees up this week! It’s hard to see but the little red one with the Power Star is decorated with Batman, Star Trek, and Star Wars ornaments.
As far as comics I’ve been reading, I’m three issues into Dan Watters and German Peralta’s Loki series. Loki has always been a favorite character of mine — he and Jessica Jones are right at the top for me when it comes to Marvel. So I’m enjoying seeing him in a new series. And I really like the premise — pieces of a cursed ship dispersing and causing chaos. For whatever reason, I’ve fallen behind on my Marvel reading this past year and it has been nice to get back to it. We get to see the God of Mischief in female form for a bit, which is always great. And I love the idea that Loki is the “Florida Man”!
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Instagram, @sarahcookewriter and @nospellcomic, and X/Twitter, @sarahcookewrite.
Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
