Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week. Feel free to check my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest updates.
First of all, I will not be at NYCC this weekend and I’m really struggling with the FOMO! So for the next few days, I’ll be constantly checking the posts from everyone there. Does this heighten the FOMO or help to alleviate it…who can say? But it’s what I’ll be doing.
With NYCC happening, this week has been pretty quiet in terms of pitch submissions. But I’ve been gearing up for the Kickstarter launch of No Spell Lasts Forever #2 on October 19, a mere WEEK from today! If you haven’t followed the campaign yet, you can do that here.
I really feel like I’m leveling up with this campaign. Eze created three gorgeous variants, I’ve got buttons and stickers and digital posters and lots of other good stuff. And I’m excited about all of it! As a little preview, here are Eze’s inks for page 23. I really love the panel with the moon!
I’ve also been starting to work on general outlines for a couple other ideas that have been rattling around in my head. Scorned April and Mayfly are my priorities, but I’ve got a few ideas that have been rattling around in my head for a couple years and it feels important to at least get the general shape of those outlines figured out.
Also, I wanted to share with you another exciting campaign that ends TOMORROW! It’s Turner Family Terrors #1-4, by Robert Krisch, Aleksandar Bozic Ske, Easton Hawk, Kyle Roberts, Wes Hartman, and JP Harrington Jr.!
Here’s a little about it:
TFT is the new horror-comedy starring monster-slaying, foul-mouthed, bumbling adventurers The Turner Family! Think The Simpsons meets Hellboy.
Support it here.
As far as comics I’m reading, I mentioned last week that I was about to start Once Upon a Time at the End of the World. Well, I finished the nine issues that are out and holy cow do I love this story! It has so much tenderness. There are so many sweet, beautiful moments and also heartbreaking moments. I mean, this is why Jason Aaron is a great writer. I can’t wait for more!
Well, that’s it for now. Again, it would be amazing if you could follow the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2. I so appreciate the support!
As always, you can find me on Instagram, @sarahcookewriter and @nospellcomic, and X/Twitter, @sarahcookewrite.
Have a great day!
Best,
