Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! Unfortunately, I was a little short on time this week so there’s no video. But I’ll be back on your screens next week!
The exciting news here this week is that Eze Di Savino has been hard at work on the art for No Spell Lasts Forever #3, and I wanted to share the first two pages of his inks!
I mean, how gorgeous are these pages?? I’m so excited for you all to have the chance to read the next issue! I’ll be sharing more info soon about the Kickstarter for it, so keep an eye on your inbox!
Also, I had a wonderful conversation with Dom and Lydia Monette about their apocalyptic kaiju comic, Fennec. Its first trade is live on Kickstarter. One of the things they talked about that I think is really interesting is how the characters’ generational trauma parallels what they’re facing externally with the end-of-the-world drama. So if you like stories with lots of action and also lots of deeper character growth, check it out! And be sure to watch part one and part two of the conversation.
And I had a great chat with DM Ray about his upcoming fantasy series, The Madcaps. We chatted about world-building, creating relatable characters, and a lot more!
As far as projects I’ve been working on, I finished up the edits for the Mayfly short I’ve been writing for the upcoming anthology I’m editing with Lesser Known Comics. And speaking of that, Faster Than Light: A Sci-Fi Anthology About Family is open for submissions! Family refers not just to families of birth, but to found families, as well. Check out the submission page for all the info.
When it comes to comics I’m reading, I’ve been reading more of InSEXts, by Marguerite Bennett and Ariela Kristantina, and I absolutely love it! I love the characters, the message, the art. It’s just so good!
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Twitter, Instagram, and Threads @sarahccomics. Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
