Hey There,
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week. Feel free to check my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest updates.
Exciting news! No Spell Lasts Forever #2 is live on Kickstarter right now! It just went live mere moments ago. Having a strong launch day is important and helps set the tone for the campaign, so if you’d like to pledge, today would be a super helpful time to do it.
As a special thank-you to early backers, the first five people to back at the $10 tier will get all the perks of the $25 tier.
Plus, all Early Bird backers who pledge during the first week will get a digital copy of Triumviratus #1, art and story by Shane W. Smith, AND Espresso Detective #1, art and story by Eric Erdek.
ICYMI, take a look at Eze’s gorgeous cover!
And we’ve got three gorgeous variants!
I’m so excited for this campaign. I feel like we’ve really got some exciting rewards, and I think I’ve grown a lot in terms of my own confidence with Kickstarter and I feel comfortable offering some rewards that may have felt a little overwhelming last time. Plus, of course I’m so excited for you to read Issue #2, and to see all of Eze’s beautiful art!
Ok, so what can you expect in Issue #2? Well, (SPOILERS for Issue #1!), when we last saw Rosette, she had been shot in the back by one of Vic's henchmen and found herself in Hell. In this issue, she makes a bargain with the devil for a second chance at life. But the catch is, it involves doing some bad stuff to a good person. You'll get to see Rosette struggle with the moral implications of that as she tries to find a way to stay alive and earn some brownie points with her criminal boss, Gray, in the process. If you haven’t had a chance to read Issue #1 yet, you can find it divided into short episodes on my Substack, and the digital version of the full issue is a reward if you back Issue #2.
As far as project news this week, as you’ve probably guessed, it’s been all about getting ready for the campaign launch. I did a little bit of work outlining another idea that’s been bouncing around in my head, but that’s about it.
And as far as comics I’m reading, I finally circled back to Sex Criminals (by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky). I read the first two volumes of it years ago as they were coming out but somehow got distracted with other things and never finished the rest of the series, even though I loved what I did read. So I’ve been re-reading those first two volumes as a refresher before moving on to the rest and I remember now why I loved it so much! This series is so unique and funny, but also so heartfelt. It has really become a classic and for good reason!
Well, that’s it for now. It would be amazing if you would consider backing the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2. I so appreciate the support!
