Hey There,
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re all having a good week. As always, feel free to check out my video update and/or continue reading.
I want to start by thanking the over 100 new subscribers who have joined Killer Tater Tots since last week! I’m just floored, and I so appreciate all the support for what I’m doing. It means a lot to see my little community growing, and it’s so exciting that you’re interested in what I’m doing. Welcome! :)
I know a lot of you found me through the Doctor Strange giveaway that I’m a part of, which is awesome. If you saw my last email, you know that I joined a group of urban fantasy comics creators, and we put together this giveaway as a way of introducing our followers to other creators we think they’ll love.
The way it works is, you share your email with the participating creators and you’re entered for a chance to win $300 of Doctor Strange march. Check it out here (and feel free to share the link).
Ok, so as far as my comics projects this week. Aimee Hawley, the amazing artist I’m working with on No Spell Lasts Forever, is working on the thumbnails for the next handful of pages, and I’m super excited to see what she comes up with! Aimee is so talented, and I absolutely love the pages she has finished so far. I posted the first page of the comic on my @nospellcomic Instagram this morning, so definitely check it out! And swipe to see how Aimee progressed with the page, starting with thumbnails.
To take a look at Aimee’s other awesome artwork, check out her Instagram and her website.
In reading list news, I finished Middlewest, by Skottie Young, Jorge Corona, and Jean-Francois Beaulieu. SPOILERS! The final scene, where Dale apologizes to Abel and they both just break down in tears, was so powerful! I just loved it. The whole comic has been pretty loaded emotionally, but this last scene hit me especially hard. It’s so good!
Next, I think I’m going to start reading Batman: Three Jokers, by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok. I’ve heard that, even though it’s Black Label, it might somehow influence Chip Zdarsky and Jorge Jimenez’s upcoming Batman run.
As always, I’d love to connect with you in Instagram, @sarahcookewriter and @nospellcomic!
Best,
Sarah
