Hey There!
Happy Thursday! As always, feel free to check out my video and/or keep on scrolling for this week’s updates!
I’ll start off with some project updates this week. It’s one of those brief periods of time where I’m in a little bit of a lull as things are happening around me. Eze is continuing to work on the inks for No Spell Lasts Forever #2 and they’re looking so good! I can’t wait to see the rest of them, and to share them with you. This comic is going to be gorgeous!
I’m also working with the artist Jersain Cast on the short I’m submitting to the Negative Space Short Comics Competition. I love Jersain’s style and I can’t wait to see his pages. Aimée Hawley will be doing the colors for it, and I’m really looking forward to working with her again.
I’m also finalizing a couple of pitch documents for Scorned April and the other series I’ve been outlining, which is tentatively called Mayfly. I’m really excited to start actually pitching my comics to publishers! But I’m going to wait until after San Diego Comic-Con so it doesn’t get lost in the mess.
And I’m working on a giveaway that, as subscribers, you’ll be automatically entered to win. I’ll be sending out more details about it next week, but basically it’ll be a chance to win a bundle of awesome, geeky merch.
That’s pretty much it as far as project updates this week. As far as comics I’m reading, it’s been all Batman around here! I was a few issues behind on the current Chip Zdarsky run, so I got caught up with that. And I’m about halfway through Batman and Robin Reborn, by Grant Morrison, Frank Quietly, and Philip Tan. It’s always interesting when Dick has to take over for Batman because he really doesn’t want to do it, he wants to be his own person, but he feels an obligation. And now he’s in that place while also training Damian, who’s all about proving he could be the best Batman. It’s good stuff!
Well, that’s it for me this week! As always, you can find me on Instagram, @sarahcookewriter and @nospellcomic, and Twitter, @sarahcookewrite.
Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
