Hey Everyone!
Happy Thursday! Unfortunately, I ran into some technical difficulties so there’s no video this week. But my smiling face will be back in your inbox next week!
So the first exciting piece of news this week is that the shiny, new Killer Tater Tots merch store is up and running! One of the stretch goals during the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #1 was designs for a merch store, and Eze Di Savino has created the first one of those! It’s a very cool No Spell logo. Here’s what it looks like on a t-shirt.
Eze has some more designs in the works, so stay tuned! And in the meantime, I’ve added the designs for the covers for Issue #1, some of the interior art, Eze’s original promotional designs of Rosette and Bash from way back before the art for Issue #1 was even started, and the very cool silhouette of Rosette that Eze did for the interior cover of Issue #1. And you can get all of those on apparel, coffee cups, stickers, phone cases, and more :)
In writing news, I’m so close to finishing the edits for Scorned April! The end is so close I can see it! Once it’s finally done, I’ll start pitching it. And I’m considering pitching it as a graphic novel due to its length. I’ve really bled my heart and soul into this thing, and it feels really good to be almost finished, and to have the script at a place where I’m finally really happy with it. I think I’ve grown a lot as a writer over the course of writing, re-writing, and editing this comic.
I’m also working on a bunch of shorts. One to submit to the Negative Space anthology and one for the Mad Cave Talent Search. After that, I’ve got two more anthologies I’m planning to submit to. So it’s all shorts all the time around here!
As far as comics I’m reading, I’ve been making my way through Batman: The Black Casebook but I keep interrupting myself with other stuff I want to read. I circled back to it yesterday and I’m finally almost finished. I love these old stories! They’re completely over the top and weird and I absolutely mean that as a compliment! I want to go back and tally up all the times Batman says “Great Scott!” It’s a lot.
Of course, every time he says it, I hear it in Doc Brown’s voice.
Well, that’s it for me this week! As always, you can find me on Instagram, @sarahcookewriter and @nospellcomic, and Twitter, @sarahcookewrite.
Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
