Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! As always, feel free to watch my video and/or keep on reading for the latest updates.
The big project news this week is that Strays, a short I wrote with the talented artist Alex Guenther, is in an anthology that just went live on Kickstarter! The anthology is called Moved by the Spirit: Hope and Light, and it’s edited by Jack Holder. It has over 60 pages of comics, art, and stories by creators from all walks of life. I’m really excited to be a part of this project and I’d love for you to check it out.
Also, I’m working on a couple of shorts for anthologies that will be published by Lesser Known Comics. I highly recommend checking them out. In addition to putting out some great comics, they’re also doing a lot of work to mentor and support up-and-coming creators.
I’m pretty excited about these shorts. One is a sci-fi and one is generally in the horror realm. I’ve got the first draft of the horror one finished, though it needs some editing. And I’m plannign on starting the sci-fi soon.
As far as comics I’m reading, I started Whisper of the Woods, by Ennun Ana Iurov, and I’m enjoying it so far. It’s interesting — the art style isn’t what I’d necessarily expect to be paired with a horror story, but given the tone of the comic, I actually think it works really well. And it makes it feel like something unique in the genre.
Well, that’s it from me for now. Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
