Hey There!
I hope your week is going well. As always feel free to watch my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest.
I have some very sad news this week, unfortunately. My dog, Gordon (named after Jim Gordon), passed away on Monday night. He was 15 and had been struggling with kidney failure for quite a while, so we knew he was likely reaching the end of his life. But of course, that doesn’t make it any less heartbreaking.
All pets are wonderful, and it’s always painful to lose a companion. But every once in a while, a pet will come into your life who is particularly special — a pet you have an especially close bond with. And that’s how it was with Gordon. He was the most loving, loyal friend you could ever ask for.
It’s interesting with pets. We know the likelihood is that they’ll pass on before us. When we bring a pet home, we know we’re probably setting ourselves up for heartbreak. But the experience of loving and being loved by a pet is so wonderful we do it anyway.
This week, I’ve been ticking off some of the easier, more administrative tasks required to set up the Kickstarter page for No Spell Lasts Forever #4, but that’s about all I’ve had the mental or emotional capacity for. I just haven’t had it in me to work on anything that requires more thought or concentration.
I guess what I want to say is, it’s a bananas time in the world right now. There are scary societal things happening around us that a lot of us are struggling to process. And on top of that, many of us are dealing with personal challenges, as well. So if you’re going through something difficult, know that you’re not alone. And here is a picture of Gordon, hopefully his cuteness will cheer you up.
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on social @sarahccomics, and I hope to connect with you there.
Best,
Sarah
