Hey Everyone!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re all having a good week! As always, feel free to take a look at my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest!
So as far as No Spell Lasts Forever #1, I’m still waiting on the proof from the printer.
I mean, everything is right on schedule based on the timeline the printer gave me but I think I’m being a little impatient to be honest because I really just want to hold it in my hand and make sure everything looks good, lol. But we’re right on track and I’m sure it’ll arrive shortly. When it does, I’ll send out a Kickstarter update, so be sure to keep an eye out for that if you’re a backer.
I’m also continuing to edit the next script I’m working on. In previous emails, I talked a little about how I’ve been revising my outlining process. I feel like that’s starting to pay off, and it’s giving me a little more confidence as I work through this next round of edits :)
And my new job at our local library is going well! Everyone I’ve met has been really friendly — like library people tend to be, lol. We have a brand new branch opening up and that’s where I’m going to be working, which is exciting. I’ve been training this week at one of the old branches, and I’m looking forward to moving to the shiny, new building next week!
As far as comics I’m reading, I finally got around to reading The Variants, by Gail Simone and Phil Noto, this week. I really enjoyed it — I knew I would because I’m a big fan of both Gail and Jessica. I feel like the series did a good job of highlighting Jessica’s snarkiness, which I love, while also showing how much heart she has under the scowls and the leather jackets. And really, that’s what I love about Jess — she’s a cactus with a heart of gold.
Well, that’s it for me this week! As always, you can find me on Instagram, @sarahcookewriter and @nospellcomic, and Twitter, @sarahcookewrite.
Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
