Awesome new Kickstarter goodies!
Hey Everyone,
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week. Unfortunately I was running a little short on time this week so there’s no video. But I’ll be on your screens again in a mere seven days!
So there’s some exciting No Spell Lasts Forever #2 news this week! First of all, the campaign passed the 80-backer mark! Which means everyone who backs (or has already backed) will get a digital copy of Mandrill P. I #1, written by Christopher Brimmage, with art by Carlos Trigo and letters by Lettersquid. It's hardboiled noir tale set in a cartoon metropolis. Think Hellboy meets True Detective meets Looney Tunes.
Also, I’m now offering the digital version of No Spell #1 as an add-on. Multiple people asked about it, so it seemed like there was some interest. So if you’ve backed or are thinking of backing at just the digital tier but you want to get caught up on the series, you’re in luck!
Otherwise this week, I’ve been working on outlines for a couple other series that have been rattling around in my head. I got some great advice from a pro I know recently who said it’s a good idea to have multiple pitches to submit around, rather than just one or two at a time, so you’re not putting all your eggs in one basket. And that makes a lot of sense to me. It actually feels really good. I have notebooks filled with vague ideas and organizing my thoughts into coherent stories is always pretty satisfying.
As far as comics I’m reading, I dove into the first issue of James Tyinon IV and Martin Simmonds’s Dracula yesterday and I loved it! Those two already proved they make a great team with The Department of Truth, and they nailed it again with Dracula! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Tynion is an amazing writer. And I mean, how creepy is this??
Well, that’s it for now. It would be amazing if you would consider backing the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #2. I so appreciate the support!
