Hey There!
Happy Thursday! I hope you’re having a great week! As always, feel free to watch my video and/or keep on reading for the latest updates.
The most exciting update this week is that submissions are officially open for Faster Than Light: A Science Fiction Anthology about Family! Submit here.
It’s the anthology I’m editing with Lesser Known Comics and I.am.so.excited! Submissions will be open through July 31. Shorts should be up to 8 pages, and should focus on members of a sci-fi family — but that includes found family. So friends who feel like family, romantic partners, etc. are all good! Here’s the prompt:
In a fast-paced, futuristic world, how do families maintain their relationships (or struggle to do so)? This can be families of birth, romantic partnerships, or found family.
I would absolutely love to read what you’ve got, so send those submissions my way!
Also, Episode 4 of No Spell Lasts Forever #2 is live on my Substack and on GlobalComix! Rosette finally comes face-to-face with her nemesis, Elspeth.
And I had a lovely Comics Chat conversation with Karla Medrano, a.k.a. Moon the Storyteller. Because it’s Women’s History Month, we chatted about the Marvel character Nightshade and the representation of women in comics. We also chatted about Karla’s excellent series Luna.
And I wanted to share a couple of pages of Eze’s gorgeous inks for No Spell Lasts Forever #3!
Ok, so as far as comics I’m reading this week, I finished the original run of Harrow County, by Cullen Bunn and Tyler Crook, last week ago and just got to the end of the first arc of Tales From Harrow County (Death’s Choir) a couple days ago. It stars Bernice as an adult and I’m absolutely loving it! I really loved Bernice as a teen, and it’s great to see her coming into her own as an adult. And I love her relationship with Georgia!
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Twitter and Instagram @sarahccomics. Have a great day!
Best,
Sarah
