Hey There!
I hope you’re having a great Thursday. As always, feel free to check out my video and/or keep on reading for all the latest!
We’re now in the second week of the campaign for No Spell Lasts Forever #3 and everything has been awesome so far! We’ve hit the 50-Backer and 75-Backer Bonuses, as well as the first stretch goal, and we’re crushing our funding goal! A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported the comic. I’m genuinely so grateful for your excitement for the comic.
If you want to get the comic but you haven’t pledged yet, now is a great time to do it (find the campaign here). We’re working toward the next stretch goal, which is printed Rosette cards made using Eze’s gorgeous digital poster design. And every pledge we get helps us get closer to that goal.
In addition to managing all the Kickstarter stuff this week, I had the chance to go on a few really fun shows with some other fantastic creators. I talked about making comics and overcoming self-doubt with Sam Vera on Catch Da Craze. I wrote a funny story about a sibling rivalry in real-time with Frank Martin on Write Now. And I chatted about audience building for new creators on Instagram with Amrit Birdi. All three of them are very impressive creators and you should definitely follow them and check out their work!
Somehow amid all the Kickstarter chaos, I managed to do some editing on the other script I’m writing. I’m so excited about this story! Thematically it really fits in with most of the other projects I’ve written, but aesthetically it’s pretty different in some ways and I’m enjoying trying something new. I can’t wait to share it with you all!
As far as comics I’ve been reading, I started Tillie Walden’s On a Sunbeam last night and I’m enjoying it a lot. I really loved Clementine and I’ve been eager to read more of her work. She has a way of infusing her stories with emotional poignancy that just rips your heart out.
Well, that’s it from me for now. As always, you can find me on Twitter, Instagram, and Threads @sarahccomics. And I’d be so grateful if you’d consider backing No Spell Lasts Forever #3!
Best,
Sarah
